Today we took a bus into downtown Dublin to take pictures for our picture book assignment. As we split up into groups we ventured off to explore Dubliin for the first time. Downtown Dublin is amazingly beautiful. The people are friendly; as we needed their help with taking their pictures for our assignment. Being able to interact with all the people was a new and exciting experience for all of us. Though the city is fast paced it still offers a unique European charm. Most of us were found strolling up and down Grafton Street and exploring the grounds of Trinisty College. There we saw the Book of Kells and were all in awe. As soon as we walked into the library, we immediately felt as though we were there to open the pages of the thousands of books that called that library home. After, we had the chance to have lunchand shop and we then headed back to our campus for dinner. We worked on our picture book assignment for the remainder of the evening. It was a wonderful day to experience all that Dublin has to offer.

Monday July 9th 2012
Today was
our fist whole day in Dublin, Ireland. We first walked through the campus to
the cafe for breakfast. When we first got there we had to wait in a long line
up out of the door. When we got inside we had a selection of toast, yogurt,
cereal, and fruit to eat for breakfast. Once we all finished our food we had to
wait awhile due to confusion with our classrooms. Shortly after our teachers
and principals sorted everything out they guided us to our classrooms for the
next 7 days. We began class by splitting into groups and creating a practice
presentation to better ourselves for future presentations in the classroom. We
then read our first short story in the novel, The Dubliners. After a short
discussion we went back to our rooms to prepare ourselves for the short bus ride
to the Kilmainham Jail. We learned a brief history before we had a guided tour
throughout the Jail. The jail was very gloomy, dark, and cold. After we took
many pictures and our tour was over we continued to Trinity College. We took a
few pictures and then headed back to our campus for dinner. Overall, we had a
very adventurous day.
